Home Owner:  Clady Barnes
Address: 4010 Waldo, Texas 77063-9963
Key Map: 530B

Mrs. Barnes is a 78 year old very nice lady. She has lived here for 48 long and wonderful years.  She enjoys church and, as the congregation's oldest member, she has been named "Mother of the Church".  She moves a little slower these days but her daughter Yvonne is there to help her.

She has a wonderfully shady front yard, a very long drive way and the back yard seems to go on forever.

We'll haul off this a torn car cover and two big old tires.

Way out back a huge tree split and fell during a storm (two very large sections).  To prevent a future breeding ground for snakes and bugs she would love for us to chop it up and haul it off.  However...this is not on our workorder and it will be a very very large task.  If a few dedicated volunteers want to tackle this job and someone has the tools (chainsaws) it would be really nice get rid of this problem for Mrs. Barnes.

The upper half is aluminum siding so Victor get a power washer to clean it.

All of the bottom half of the siding (T1-11) will have to be replaced.  There is a make shift "lip" transitioning from the aluminum siding to the T1-11 which will also have to be replaced.  Large nails are sticking out where the lip has rotted out.  Some volunteers can start priming the new siding before our wonderful carpenters hang it.  Then we'll paint all the T1-11 crimson red along with all of the door trim and window trims.

Some of the windows need trim installed and others replaced.  There is a small patch of wood exposed on the eave from missing siding.  We'll try to cover it to prevent weather damage and bugs from building nests in the holes.

The porch is green but after priming it we'll paint it crimson red.  There is a broken window pane on the front to replace.  Corner trim on the front and back will be replaced.  On the back side there is siding on the eave that we need to reshape and nail down.   Her screen door has about had it.    The screen is torn and no handle to open or lock the door.  We'll ask the warehouse if we can get her a new one.

Yvonne (daughter) told us that when it rains the back floods.   The left side of the ramp has bricks that were set in concrete  and it would be great if we could get some volunteers to lay some concrete and set bricks on the right side too.  There are some extra bricks in a pile by the fence.

Vines on the north side are growing onto the siding.  IF the power washing doesn't clear them we'll have to manually remove them.

There isn't much space between the house and fence.
Poison oak or poison ivy may be on the fence so be careful.  Please don't work on this side of the house if you are susceptible to either of this itchy skin conditions.

Be sure to let Victor or Mary Ann know if your workdays change or if something happens and you can't make it. Be sure to introduce yourself to someone new. You might just recognize a voice and finally meet the person from the other side of the phone. We would like this to be a 2 workday project and need all the help we can get. Your leaders really think you are awesome and appreciate your help!

Work safe and have fun. See you on the 14th and 21st.
