Thank you for stepping up the plate.  Be safe and let's get ready to rumble!

What to wear and bring: Be sure to wear close toed shoes, bring your garden gloves, a hat and even sun screen. We have shade in front but be ready for Mr. Sun in the afternoon on the back side of the house. Feel free to bring a chair for breaks and a picnic lunch. If you have them, PLEASE bring ladders (all sizes) and paint brushes.

Our crew mom, Margarita, is making breakfast tacos and homemade salsa (hot stuff) for us again.  We love you mom!  Dennie will make brownies for the 14th and Marilyn will make her delicious deserts for the 21st.  Feel free to bring your favorite too.

UTHM will provide water, sodas, lunch and a commemorative t-shirt for our awesome volunteers.

Home Owner:  Joanne Rushing
Address: 7342 Saint Lo Road, Texas 77033-2730
Key Map: 534S

Ms. Rushing is a super 64 year old lady who taught Physical Science for HISD for 30 years.  The last 12 years were at Milby High School.  Her home has been flooded several times, so she really needs our help.  There was 3 feet of water in her bed room during Alison!
We may have to park on the city lot on the adjacent corner (if it's not too wet)  because of constant traffic in front of her house.
She has a nice shady front yard for our lunch so bring your chairs.  Burglar bars on most of the window will need taped up before painting the window/door trim.  The grass in the back yard is pretty tall.

There is mostly scrapping and painting on the front of the house.  We need volunteers to prime the new 105 siding before our wonderful carpenters hang it around the entire house.  We'll install a new screen door and light fixture...replace some rotten wood.   The front window and corner of the garage will get new trim.  Tarp her rose bushes to protect them from paint chips and drips.

Take down cables permanently from some old satellite dishes   ...any volunteers?  Depending on the condition of the roof, we may leave the dishes...We'll see.

There is plenty of 105 siding to replace on this side of the house... ...window trim here too... ...Bet we can give her better support for that air unit too.

Around the corner but same side... ..and the very very back...
...opposite side... ...fascia work... ...105 and 1x4 trim......more fascia work... ...around the corner......basic scrape and paint.

Some cinder blocks out back will make a nice stand for this little flower corner.  All of the milk crates are to be hauled off. This old dog house is coming down!

Work safe and have fun. See you on the 14th and 21st.
