The MS Migration online application was designed to allow
Lan Managers the ability to schedule PC migrations in the Medical School to the University Active Directory as well as to track migrations and to update and view schedules
online. This page was created to explain some of the
functionality of the online application.
There are three actions to choose from on the main menu. Below is a description of the three choices with instructions for each.
1. Submit a New Schedule
- Enter a new schedule by filling out the fields on the form and clicking the submit button. All fields are required except for 'Additional Information'.
2. Update an Existing Schedule
- If you select this option, you will be taken to a menu of all schedules you have submitted along with an 'Update' and 'Complete Migration' option.
- By selectiong the 'Update' option, you will be taken to a migration form with the information from that schedule filled in. You will then be able to
make any changes to the schedule and submit the form to update the schedule.
- Select the 'Complete Migration' option ONCE THE MIGRATION IS COMPLETE. Once this option is selected, the migration record will be marked complete with a
date/time stamp and the schedule will no longer be available to update.
3. Search Existing Schedules by Migration Date
- When selecting this option, you will be taken to a search page which will allow you to enter a Begin and End date. Once you enter
the dates and hit submit, a summary of all migration schedules during the selected period will appear ordered by migration date.
- By selecting the 'info' link at the end of each record, all information for the selected migration schedule will be displayed.
